WELCOME TO ATHLETES WITH DISABILITIES!

The Harmonie Mutuelle Semi de Paris would not be nearly as meaningful if it weren’t for the involvement of you, athletes with disabilities.

Our promise to you for the 2020 Harmonie Mutuelle Semi de Paris is that it will be an inclusive race open to all athletes.

Whether you are in a racing wheelchair or a standard wheelchair, whether you are running or in a joelette, we want to give you the best welcome possible, so that on 1 March, the streets of Paris will belong to you too!

You want to take part in a racing wheelchair

For the first time, we are opening a specific “wheelchair” race as part of the Harmonie Mutuelle Semi de Paris.

A special pack will be organised at the front of the race for athletes with disabilities who are faster than the able-bodied runners.

According to IPC (International Paralympic Committee) rules, you must be able to manage on your own at the feeding stations and in the event of a puncture.

In this race format, only “athletic” chairs are allowed, “handbikes” are prohibited since they are a version of a classic bicycle.

  • There is a specific fee for your bib (unless otherwise agreed by the FFH or local committee): contact us at semideparis@aso.fr
  • Publication of a specific ranking (Men/Women)

You want to take part in a standard wheelchair

  • Register normally in the starting area which corresponds to your target time. There is not a specific bib.
  • Your registration is subject to a fee (as for all other participants).
  • For greater comfort and safety, you will set off at the back of your starting area. If you have a special request about your start, contact us at semideparis@aso.fr
  • Integration into the standard rankings with able-bodied athletes and by age group.

You want to take part as a standing athlete with disabilities

In this category, you can run alone or with a guide or supporter, depending on your needs.

Today, our position (which is shared with the FFH) is to integrate all walking or running athletes with disabilities into the main pack and not to differentiate their participation from that of able-bodied athletes.

There will, therefore, be no early start on the race, which can create security issues (earlier closing time of the roads with the police and a pace that is not necessarily appropriate to ensuring the able-bodied athletes at the front of the race can be overtaken).

The choice of bibs and starting areas must be made according to your target time.

However, in order to avoid jostling for the first few hundred metres of the race, we can organise your start once you are on site: you can set off in the free time between two starting areas or calmly at the back of the previous starting area.

  • Register normally in the starting area which corresponds to your target time. There is not a specific bib.
  • Your registration is subject to a fee (as for all other participants)!
  • Registration for your guide or your supporter is free of charge: contact us at semideparis@aso.fr to sign up.
  • Integration into the standard rankings with able-bodied athletes and by age group.

You want to take part in a joelette, accompanied by a team

  • Your registration is free of charge: contact us at semideparis@aso.fr
  • Register normally in the starting area which corresponds to your target time, there is not a specific bib. You will start at the end of the pack, for additional comfort and safety.
  • Registration is subject to a fee for supporters
  • There is not a specific ranking.

We have received lots of requests from you which delights us! However, for security reasons within the pack, we are obliged to create a rotation system for applications from one year to the next to allow everyone to take part.

Don’t hesitate to send us an mail, for any other specific case or to clarify something which hasn’t been mentioned on this page. We will reply to you quickly!
